A few months after the iPhone was made available, I imagined an iPhone app with augmented reality features that would help the general public to better understand the European institutions.
You just launch the app, enable the camera and point it to a building in Brussels’ European quarter. On the screen, the user taps the label that displays comprehensive information about the institution and the schedule of activities during the Open House day.
The whole content was driven by an XML file hosted online and edited at will.
It was the 1st mobile app of the European institutions and after a peak in downloads right after the release, it was downloaded at least 2 times per day for years.
